If you are performing a discrimination and noticing that the test is taking too long, there might be because:
- The false positives:
- This is just an internal control. You can find more information on the algorithm here. The application comes with a number of internal controls to check the reliability of the listener's responses. One of these controls is to send 2 equal signals. If the listener responds that they are different, this is a false positive response. The application takes thin into consideration in its underlying binomial statistics.
- The test didn't end:
- This is normal. The test goes on until it finds a threshold (or JND). In case of less reliable responses, the algorithm needs more time to come to a conclusion.
